I wish ...Ah - thank you for an illuminating review. I wish I'd seen the comments about the magnet wire before - I have spent some time unwinding end turns to restart snapped ends. Of course there is no advantage to putting wire end on the inside - doh! I presume you are no wiser as to why the new HV pcb worked better than the original ? <br />The PCB pad to pad and ground plane distances could easily have been opened out in places- this is meant for amateur assembly after all- I work with electronics for a living, I see CAD settings we may use for assembly with microscope and hot gas, I imagine kitchen top users may struggle with the soldering.<br />I must admit I have only run mine from a controlled DC in place of the mains derived 340V so far (as I have the luxury of a proper lab where I can play) Waveforms are indeed a bit wild, not as bad as yours.
